Embarking on the journey of pregnancy is a time of wonder and transformation. For those experiencing a plus-size pregnancy, it’s essential to embrace this time with knowledge and confidence. Armed with knowledge and confidence, you’ll navigate this unique experience. Together, let’s explore this empowering journey for a healthy, positive experience!
A plus-size pregnancy typically refers to expectant mothers who begin their pregnancy with a higher body mass index (BMI). Specifically, if your pre-pregnancy BMI is 30 or above, your pregnancy might be classified as “plus-size” in medical terms.
While plus-size pregnancies are common and often proceed without complications, it’s vital to be aware of some unique risks associated with a higher BMI during pregnancy.
While these risks do not define your pregnancy, understanding them can help you prepare and manage your health along the way. However, it’s important to remember that every body is unique and beautiful, and BMI is just one of many factors that can influence pregnancy.
Just like any other pregnancy, your plus-size pregnancy can be a healthy and wonderful experience. Here are strategies to support your journey.
